Alissa White-Gluz

Alissa White-Gluz is, to me, one of the most fearless vocalists in modern metal. What impresses me is not just the technical command of switching between guttural growls and soaring clean vocals, but the sheer presence she brings to a genre still too often treated as a boys' club. Fronting Arch Enemy and now lending her voice to DragonForce, she keeps expanding her range rather than coasting. I admire performers who refuse to be boxed in, and her blue-haired defiance feels like a statement as much as a sound. She is genuinely singular.
