My Take

Allan Houston is, to me, the embodiment of elegance at the shooting guard position. His jumper was pure poetry, and that running floater to sink the heavily favored Heat in the 1999 playoffs remains one of the great clutch moments in Knicks lore. A two-time All-Star out of Tennessee, he won with grace rather than flash. What I appreciate just as much is the man off the court: thoughtful, principled, and later trusted in the Knicks front office. Houston represents a quieter, more dignified kind of stardom that I wish the modern game celebrated more often.
