My Take

What strikes me about Andrea Rubio is the weight she carries as a symbol. Becoming Miss International 2023, and the ninth Venezuelan to do so, is not a small thing in a country that treats pageantry as a national art form. I find it telling that she balanced the University of La Sabana with that pursuit, because it hints at someone who refuses to be reduced to her looks. Venezuela has produced winner after winner under genuinely difficult conditions, and that resilience fascinates me.
