My Take

Antonio Silva is a young defender I'm already excited about. Born in Viseu in 2003, the Portuguese centre-back came through Benfica's academy into the first team and the senior national side at a startling pace. At 187cm he's strong in the air, but it's the calm with which he marshals a back line so young that impresses me most. Centre-back is a thankless spot, no goals to bask in and every mistake replayed, so being trusted there this early is a real vote of confidence. How big he gets on the world stage is the part I'll be grinning my way through.
