My Take

Tiago Djalo is the kind of young center back I genuinely enjoy following. Born in 2000 in Amadora, a Lisbon suburb famous for producing tough, technical players, he has fought his way to a starting role at Besiktas and earned a Portugal call up. Centre backs who can read the game and dominate physically are always worth watching, and at his age the ceiling is still wide open. He has had to push through setbacks, but that adversity often forges the most reliable defenders. I respect players who leave home to test themselves abroad, and I think his best football is still ahead of him.
