My Take

What strikes me most about Arden Cho is how quietly versatile she is. A taekwondo athlete turned singer-songwriter, model, and actress, she built her audience the hard way, through YouTube collaborations, before Teen Wolf made Kira Yukimura a fan favorite. I always sense that martial-arts discipline underneath her screen presence; there is a physical precision to her work that most actors lack. Coming out of Amarillo, Texas, with a University of Illinois education rather than a showbiz pedigree, she represents the self-made path I respect most in Hollywood. She strikes me as an artist still widening her range, and I suspect her best chapters are unwritten.
