Aries Spears

Born in Chicago and raised in New Jersey, he logged 198 episodes on Mad TV, and the precision of his impersonations is genuinely uncanny; he doesn't imitate celebrities so much as inhabit them. Pairing that with the timing he sharpened in stand-up and a turn at voice work shows real versatility. His 2011 special proved he could carry a marquee on his own. He's never been an awards-circuit name, but the laughter he's earned night after night speaks to a skill I quietly rate very highly.
