My Take

Arslanmyrat Amanow earns my quiet admiration. A winger and attacking midfielder born in Mary, Turkmenistan in 1990, he built a career across Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, a Central Asian football world most fans never glimpse. That alone is a reminder of how much talent lives outside the leagues we obsess over. What I find genuinely compelling is the second act: stepping into the presidency of FK Arkadag in late 2024. A man who once ran the flanks now steering a club from the front office is a graceful arc, and I hope he becomes a builder of his country's game.
