My Take
Lower is proof that patience pays. Raised in Heyworth, Illinois, and trained at Northwestern, she spent years in solid roles before Severance handed her the part of a lifetime and a 2025 Emmy followed. What I respect is the craft beneath the recognition: she writes and directs too, so she reads a story from the inside out, which shows in how precisely she splits one character into two opposing selves. That dual performance is genuinely hard, and she makes it look like breathing. I'm always glad when a slow-built career finally lands, and hers feels thoroughly earned.
