My Take
Cameron Diaz is my favorite example of charisma outrunning category. She arrived as a model with no formal training, stole The Mask outright, then spent a decade proving she could do anything — gross-out comedy, action, even Scorsese. What I respect most is the lightness she brought to stardom; she never seemed to need Hollywood's validation, which is probably why she could walk away on her own terms. Her best comedic work has a fearlessness that few glamorous leading women were ever permitted, and she seized it anyway. That, to me, is the real legacy.
