Cassadee Pope

I have a soft spot for artists who refuse to stay in one lane, and Cassadee Pope is exactly that. Fronting the pop-punk band Hey Monday, then reinventing herself as a solo act and becoming the first female winner of The Voice, she proved her instincts long before the cameras validated them. What I find most compelling is her willingness to cross from pop-punk into country, a leap that demands real conviction. That fearless genre-hopping, anchored by a genuinely distinctive voice, makes me see her less as a contest winner and more as a songwriter who simply followed her own ear wherever it led.
