My Take
CCH Pounder is the kind of performer who makes me sit up straighter. Born in Georgetown, Guyana, she crossed an ocean and built a career purely on craft, becoming the consummate character actor whose presence anchors any scene. From The Shield to ER to NCIS: New Orleans, she brought gravity to doctors and detectives that few could match, and her voice work earned an Audie Award because that low, resonant voice carries absolute conviction. As Mo'at in Avatar, she lends instant weight to an entire world. I deeply respect actors whose authority comes from skill rather than hype, and she embodies exactly that.
