My Take
What strikes me most about Charo Santos-Concio is her rare double life: a beloved actress who also rose to run ABS-CBN, the Philippines' biggest media empire, as president and CEO. That blend of being in front of the camera and steering the whole machine from behind it is unusual and, frankly, formidable. Add a Harvard education and the decades-long emotional anchor of Maalaala Mo Kaya, and you get someone who understands storytelling from every angle. I admire performers who can also wield real institutional power without losing their humanity, and she seems to have managed exactly that.
