My Take
Chris Vrenna is a name only serious rock fans clock, and that is exactly why I admire him. Drumming for Nine Inch Nails from 1988 to 1996, then later joining Marilyn Manson, he was the rhythmic backbone behind some of industrial rock's most punishing walls of sound. The Erie, Pennsylvania native also built his own project, Tweaker, and works as a composer. I have always thought these behind-the-scenes craftsmen are the unsung heroes of heavy music; without them, none of that towering noise holds together.
