My Take
Colin Egglesfield strikes me as a steady, classic leading-man type whose value lies in consistency. A University of Iowa graduate from Michigan who moved from modeling into acting, he built his name through television grind — Josh Madden on All My Children, Auggie on the Melrose Place reboot, and Dex in Something Borrowed. What I appreciate is the resilience behind the handsome face: soap operas are a punishing endurance test, and he kept showing up. He may not have a shelf of awards, but performers like him are the dependable scaffolding of TV drama, and I quietly rate that highly.
