My Take
D'Arcy Carden is, to me, one of the most quietly virtuosic comic actors working today. Her turn as Janet in The Good Place was a masterclass in physical and tonal control, playing a not-quite-human being who somehow felt more alive than anyone around her. What I respect most is that she clearly earned this through years of stage and improv work rather than a single lucky break. Her range in A League of Their Own only confirmed it. I suspect her best roles are still ahead, and I'll happily watch her grow into them. She's a slow-burn talent worth betting on.
