My Take

Darryl O'Young fascinates me as a genuine bridge figure. Born in Vancouver but built his career out of Hong Kong, he raced under the Chinese name 歐陽若曦 and then evolved into a team owner, manager and mentor once his driving days wound down. That second act is the part I admire most, because moving from the cockpit to building the people behind it takes a different kind of vision. He helped pull Asian motorsport forward at a formative time, straddling East and West with ease. I have a lot of time for athletes who refuse to vanish at retirement and instead pave the road for the next generation.
