David Giuntoli

David Giuntoli strikes me as a dependable craftsman rather than a flashy star, and I mean that as praise. A Milwaukee native who studied at Indiana University, he broke through as Nick Burkhardt in Grimm, selling an absurd fairy-tale-monster premise with a straight face for six seasons. He then anchored A Million Little Things for years, the kind of long-haul ensemble work that demands stamina more than fireworks. The fact that he also does voice work and television directing suggests someone more interested in how a production runs than in chasing the limelight. I have a soft spot for actors who quietly earn lasting affection, and he reads as one.
