Deco

Deco is one of my favorite kinds of footballer, the brain over brawn type. Born in Brazil but a star for Portugal, he never relied on size at 174 cm, instead controlling midfields at Barcelona and Chelsea with vision, timing, and a brilliant first touch. That intelligence is why his second act makes so much sense to me: he now serves as sporting director at the very club where he shone. Watching a player who read the game so well move into shaping a club is genuinely satisfying. I quietly root for thinkers like him.
