My Take

Devin Brown's story is the underdog arc I can't resist. A 196 cm shooting guard from Salt Lake City who came not from a blue-blood basketball school but from UTSA, he still carved out eight NBA seasons and, crucially, won a championship with the 2005 San Antonio Spurs. That ring wasn't handed to him; it was clawed for, contract by contract, season after season. I admire players who prove you don't need an elite pedigree to reach the summit. Brown's grind-it-out path makes him far more compelling to me than any can't-miss prospect ever was.
