Dónal Lunny

Dónal Lunny is, to me, one of the most quietly influential figures in modern music. Founding Planxty, The Bothy Band and Moving Hearts, and wielding guitar, bouzouki, keyboards and bodhrán with equal ease, he didn't just preserve Irish traditional music, he reinvented it for the modern ear.
