My Take
What fascinates me about Doug Emhoff is the role reversal he embodied. A Brooklyn-born entertainment lawyer used to working behind the scenes, he suddenly became the first-ever second gentleman of the United States, standing beside a history-making vice president. I admire how he leaned into that supporting position rather than resisting it. There's real strength in a man who can step back, champion his partner's spotlight, and redefine what a political spouse looks like. He turned an unprecedented, awkward role into something dignified and warm, and that quiet confidence is what I respect most about him.
