Douglas Brunt

Douglas Brunt appeals to me because of his unusual pivot. A Duke graduate who ran a cybersecurity firm as president and CEO before reinventing himself as a novelist, biographer, and SiriusXM podcast host, he embodies a rare crossover between the boardroom and the writing desk. Executives who have weathered real operational pressure tend to bring an unexpected weight to their fiction and research. I find that combination of analytical discipline and narrative imagination genuinely rare. The Philadelphia native seems to treat storytelling as another problem worth solving rigorously, and I respect anyone who reinvents their craft so completely in midlife.
