My Take
Eddie Ng is a figure I find genuinely appealing. A singer and actor born in British Hong Kong and educated at the prestigious Queen's College, he chose performance over the safe paths a top school usually opens. Wearing both a singer's and an actor's hat takes a particular kind of nerve, and his generation lived through Hong Kong's most electric cultural years. He released his first Cantonese album on EMI in 1987 and has since worked with several labels; performers who simply keep showing up develop a texture all their own, and that quiet persistence is exactly what earns my respect.
