My Take
Eliza Dushku is genuinely one of those actors who deserved a longer reign at the top, and I'll always be a little bitter that it didn't happen. Her turn as Faith on Buffy the Vampire Slayer is flat-out iconic — a slayer who's all id and leather jacket, morally messy in the best possible way, and Dushku played every shade of that with total conviction. She had the charisma to carry her own shows too, and Tru Calling was more fun than it got credit for. Dollhouse showed real range and she co-produced, which tells you she understood the business side. The CBS settlement news in the late 2010s was sobering but not surprising given Hollywood's track record — and she handled it with more dignity than the industry deserved.
