My Take
What fascinates me most about Eminem is not the technical wizardry, though few rappers alive can match his internal rhyme schemes. It is the radical self-exposure. He turned his own dysfunction, addiction, and insecurity into raw material, giving hip-hop a confessional register it rarely allowed itself. Winning an Academy Award and entering the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame says everything about how far he stretched the genre's boundaries. I find his late-career output uneven, but the hunger never fades. To me, he remains the clearest proof that craft plus brutal honesty beats manufactured image every single time.
