My Take
Filippo Tommaso Marinetti is a figure I find impossible to file neatly. As founder of Futurism, he detonated old artistic conventions, worshipping speed, machines and rupture in ways that genuinely reshaped twentieth-century art. The University of Genoa graduate had the courage to demand the future. Yet his later embrace of Fascism is something I can't wave away; the same appetite for force curdled into something darker. I don't think we honor him by smoothing over the contradiction. Marinetti is best met head-on, a brilliant provocateur whose light and shadow are equally instructive, and equally impossible to ignore.
