Frank Miller

Frank Miller is, for me, one of the rare creators who genuinely redrew the boundaries of his medium. Bringing cinematic shadow and hard-boiled violence into comics, reinventing Batman as adult myth in The Dark Knight Returns, birthing Elektra, building the stark world of Sin City, he made the form feel dangerous and serious.
