My Take

Oboabona is the kind of player whose value never shows up in a highlight reel. A 186 cm centre-back out of Akure, he made his name doing the unglamorous work at the back for Nigeria, the stuff fans only notice when it goes wrong. I have a soft spot for these defensive craftsmen who travel from the African scene to Europe and stake their careers on physical sacrifice rather than goals.
