Golshifteh Farahani

Golshifteh Farahani commands my deep respect for the life behind the work. A genuine star in Iran, she paid for her artistic freedom by losing access to her homeland, rebuilding her career from France and reaching audiences worldwide in films like About Elly, Paterson, and Extraction. Her French and German state honors feel earned not just by talent but by conviction. What draws me to her is a quiet, unbreakable strength; she never bends herself to fit the room. She is also a singer, but it is that integrity I keep returning to. I will champion performers with a spine like hers every time.
