Guan Xiaotong

Guan strikes me as more than a teen-idol success story. Breaking through from child roles into The Left Ear and Zhang Yimou's Shadow, then anchoring television series, shows a willingness to take on darker, more demanding parts than her image might suggest. Being twice named among the New Four Dan Actresses by both Sohu and CCTV-6 signals real industry consensus, not just fan noise. What interests me is her range: she can carry the cute lead and the shadowed role alike. She looks like a genuine pillar of China's next acting generation.
