Harold Perrineau

To me, Harold Perrineau is the kind of actor whose presence quietly recalibrates a scene. I first clocked him as Link in the Matrix sequels, but it is the texture he brought to Smoke that convinced me he was something special. Born in Brooklyn, he carries an unforced realism, and his 2006 ensemble SAG Award speaks to a performer who elevates everyone around him rather than hogging the frame. I admire actors who serve the story over their own vanity, and his move into voice work tells me his instrument itself is an asset. He is a craftsman, and I respect craftsmen.
