My Take

Bedimo embodies the relentless modern full-back: defend, sprint, overlap, repeat for ninety minutes. Fifty-one caps for Cameroon with a single goal is a stat that tells the truth about his job, the unglamorous connective tissue between defence and attack. What impresses me more is the path itself. Carving out a European career as an African player from Douala demands talent and stubbornness in equal measure, and he did it on the strength of one tireless left foot.
