My Take
Hunt Sales is the kind of drummer whose resume tells you more than any solo ever could. Sharing rhythm sections with Todd Rundgren, Iggy Pop, and David Bowie's Tin Machine is not luck; it's the mark of someone bandleaders trust to hold the whole thing together. What draws me in most is the family angle: locking in with his brother Tony on bass, a rhythm section bound by blood and breath rather than rehearsal. I have a deep respect for players who chase the groove instead of the spotlight, and Sales strikes me as exactly that quiet, dependable engine that great rock records are secretly built on.
