Huwie Ishizaki

Huwie Ishizaki grew up in Mito, Ibaraki, and was already writing songs and performing them in front of people by middle school. That single detail tells me music was never a hobby for him — it was how he talked. He fronted the band Astrocoast before working under his own name as a singer-songwriter, and he acts as well. What I enjoy most is the name itself: Huwie, playful and slightly absurd, impossible to forget once you have heard it. A name like that gets you noticed once. Staying noticed is an entirely different job, and he has kept at it. Born in 1984, still writing.
