My Take

Dalila Di Lazzaro intrigues me because she refused to stay in the box the camera first put her in. Discovered as a strikingly tall model from Udine, she could easily have coasted on her looks through 1970s Italian cinema, but instead she moved into acting, singing, and eventually writing her own words. That last move is the one I respect most. Going from being looked at to authoring your own story takes a particular kind of resolve, especially for a woman of her era and beauty. To me she reads less as a screen ornament and more as a survivor with real steel beneath the elegance.
