My Take
J. J. Watt is one of those rare athletes I admire as much off the field as on it. A three-time Defensive Player of the Year, he was a genuinely terrifying force during his twelve NFL seasons, but that is only half the story. What truly earns my respect is the Walter Payton Man of the Year award and his massive hurricane-relief fundraising, the reason he made the Time 100. Watching the most dominant man on the field become the most generous man off it is deeply moving. He embodies the idea that real strength is measured by what you give, not just what you win.
