My Take
Jada Pinkett Smith has spent three decades refusing to be just one thing, and that is exactly what I find compelling about her. The acting résumé alone would satisfy most careers — Ali, Collateral, the Matrix films, scene-stealing voice work in Madagascar — but her most radical act may be Red Table Talk, where she turned family vulnerability into a new kind of television and won a Daytime Emmy for it.
