Jake T. Austin

Jake T. Austin is a fascinating study in surviving the child-star trap. Voicing Diego on Go, Diego, Go! and playing Max on Wizards of Waverly Place from the age of seven, he grew up entirely inside the camera's gaze, which is the hardest place to mature gracefully. What earns my respect is that he kept working across voice, television, and film rather than burning out or fading after his Disney peak. He strikes me as a steady, unflashy professional who simply loves the craft enough to keep showing up. There is real dignity in that kind of quiet persistence.
