Jalen Brunson is genuinely one of my favorite "prove the doubters wrong" stories in the NBA. At 6-foot-2 in a league full of giants, he plays like he never got the memo that his size was supposed to be a limitation — and honestly, that's what makes him so fun to watch. Coming out of Villanova in 2018, he swept basically every major college player of the year award going, which told you right away this guy was different. Dallas drafted him in the second round and he quietly became indispensable, but it was his move to the New York Knicks that really unlocked him. He turned into a legitimate superstar anchor for the most storied franchise in basketball, dropping 28-plus points on any given night with a relentless mid-range game that feels almost retro in the best possible way. Rick Brunson's kid grew up to be the real deal.
