Jane Fraser

Jane Fraser is the person on this list I most admire. Born in St Andrews, educated at Cambridge and Harvard, she climbed to the top of Citi and became the first woman to lead a major U.S. bank. That is a genuinely historic ceiling to break. What impresses me is the foundation underneath it: a decade at McKinsey, making partner before pivoting into banking. She reads as substance over flash, the sort who pries open doors through sheer competence. I am far more drawn to quiet ceiling-breakers like her than to loud, splashy success stories.
