My Take

There's something I deeply respect about a prop forward, the man who lives in the dark heart of the scrum and rarely gets the headlines. Adams, Auckland-raised with Samoan roots, has built a genuinely nomadic career: Northland in New Zealand's NPC and the New Orleans Gold in America's Major League Rugby. Crossing hemispheres to keep playing your trade takes a particular kind of grit, on and off the field. I'm drawn to athletes who do the thankless heavy lifting and ask for nothing in return. He's exactly the sort of unsung pro I find myself quietly cheering for.
