My Take
Jax Jones, born Timucin Lam in London in 1987, is one of pop's smartest collaborators in my view. His breakout riding Duke Dumont's 'I Got U' showed instinct, but it's the follow-ups that impress me: pulling in Raye, then Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don, before they were obvious choices. That ear for the right voice at the right moment is a producer's real superpower. His multicultural roots seem to feed the borderless, dancefloor-first quality of his sound. I respect craftsmen who make other people shine, and Jones consistently does exactly that.
