Jay Underwood

What fascinates me most about Jay Underwood is the arc of his life, not just the resume. He was a busy teen star in the eighties, landing lead roles in The Boy Who Could Fly and Not Quite Human, and even playing a young Hemingway. Then, instead of chasing fading fame, he reportedly stepped away to become a pastor. I find that pivot genuinely admirable. It takes a particular kind of self-knowledge to walk off the soundstage and toward something quieter and more meaningful, and it makes his early work feel even more poignant in hindsight.
