Jencarlos Canela

Jencarlos Canela embodies the Miami-born entertainer who refuses to pick a lane. Singer, songwriter, and telenovela lead, he won a 2013 Premios Tu Mundo for favorite lead actor, which tells me he connected with audiences, not just executives. What interests me is his willingness to expose the creative process, like the behind-the-scenes Vevo project documenting an album's making; that takes a certain confidence. Talent spread across music and acting can dilute into dabbling, but doing all of it seriously is rare.
