My Take
For my money, Jennie Garth will always be Kelly Taylor, the heart of Beverly Hills, 90210 and an emblem of an entire era of teen television. But what I admire is that she refused to be trapped by that iconic role. She showed lighter, sharper comic timing on What I Like About You, then expanded into directing and producing, and even wrote a candid memoir about her Hollywood life. It would have been easy to coast on nostalgia; instead she kept reinventing. People dismiss the Hollywood-blonde label, yet I read her as a grounded, hardworking professional who built a lasting career rather than just a moment.
