My Take
Jenny McCarthy is one of those figures who genuinely defies easy categorization — she burst onto the scene as Playboy's Playmate of the Year in 1994, then somehow spun that into a legit career hosting MTV's Singled Out in the mid-90s, which was actually a blast to watch. She had real comedic timing and wasn't afraid to be goofy and loud in a space that usually preferred women to be decorative. Then came the acting gigs, the Razzie wins (yes, plural), the talk show appearances, the co-host seat on The View — the woman kept reinventing herself. Honestly, I have a lot of complicated feelings about her anti-vaccine advocacy, which caused real harm and set back public health conversations in a serious way, so I can't just gloss over it. But as a pure pop-culture artifact of 90s Midwestern-girl-makes-good energy, she's undeniably fascinating.
