My Take
I have a complicated affection for Jeremy Clarkson. The provocations can be exhausting, but underneath them sits one of the sharpest comic writers British television has produced, and the craft shows in every Top Gear and Grand Tour set piece. What won me over completely was Clarkson's Farm, where he let himself be the fool of the story, baffled by sheep and beaten by weather, and somehow revealed more warmth than decades of bravado ever did. A man who can turn his own incompetence into the most humane show on streaming has earned my grudging, genuine respect.
