Jeremy Meeks may be the strangest fame origin I know of. A former Crips member from Tacoma, arrested in a 2014 gang sweep, he became globally known when his mugshot went viral for sheer good looks and parlayed that accident into a modeling career. What interests me isn't the viral photo; it's the pivot. The moment that usually ends a life became his starting line, and reinventing yourself in a wholly different world while carrying that past takes real nerve. I respect the second act more than the lucky break. To me, the reinvention, not the face, is the actual achievement.
