Jessica Brown Findlay

Jessica Brown Findlay won me over as Lady Sybil in Downton Abbey, the most forward-thinking of the Crawley sisters, and her exit genuinely stayed with me longer than I expected. There's a fascinating tension in her presence: poise and a faint air of fragility coexisting, which lets her drift between period drama and the dreamlike romanticism of Winter's Tale. Coming from Cookham on the Thames somehow suits that refined, slightly melancholy quality. She isn't a relentless headliner, but a room gets classier whenever she walks into frame. I'll keep rooting for performers like her.
